Find a program to unzip the mod downloads you want. I use the free program WinRAR. Find a mod you like and download it to your computer. Transfer the file to WinRAR (or 7-Zip). Extract the file to Electronic ArtsThe Sims 4Mods. Read the mod site carefully. Some creators have specific instructions to get the mod to work.

• Go into the game and enable the mods and custom content. Download the mod you want from the internet. Use the Finder program to locate the Mods folder (Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods).
• Download the Mod. The Sims Resource (TSR) Once you have found your mod, download it. If you're using a website such as The Sims Resource, you can click 'see more and download' to begin your download. Once you've downloaded the mod, depending what you've downloaded the mod will show on your computer as either a.zip file or.package file.

In general, most modifications in The Sims 4 will be delivered as .package files. These usually have a '.package'- extension and are often packed with a compression tool. Therefore, the downloads have often he ZIP or RAR format. While you can open ZIP-Files without problems with the built-in Zip-Extractor of Windows 7/8/8.1, you have to download additional software for RAR-Files.

Playing The Sims 4

If you have completed all these steps, you can now start the game. Now a popup window will appear with all loaded modifications, categorized by NON-SCRIPT-MODS and SCRIPT-MODS. If you don't want to see this window again, you just need to uncheck 'View at game start'.
