Perhaps the version you are having is not fully compatible with Windows 10. Anyways, there is a new version available on PotPlayer site. So, you should download the 64-bit version, and install and see if the issue goes away. Windows 10 Pro 1709 (OS Build 16299.125) 64-bit with latest 64-bit version of Potplayer. Why am I NEVER unable to select Daum Potplayer as my default video player — Daum is NEVER listed in the possible selections. This problem with Potplayer has been installing with the same results for previous builds of Windows 10 as well.

PotPlayer Codec Pack (OpenCodec)
The PotPlayer Codec Pack had been included in a distribution package before but it was separated while launching a global version to avoid license issues. If not installed, PotPlayer won't decode AAC/AAC LATM/AC3/EAC3/TrueHD/MLP/DTS and some functions won't work at all.
PotPlayer additional codec pack (you need to manually check if the codec is updated) whenever a new version is released in case the installing procedure is skipped in the last setup. Installing the additional codec in the last setup will automatically check the procedure on behalf of you. It will not be installed again if not required.

PotPlayer is a multimedia software player developed for the Microsoft Windows operating system by South Korean Internet company Kakao (formerly Daum Communications). It competes with other popular Windows media players such as VLC media player, GOM Player, KMPlayer, SMPlayer and Media Player Classic. PotPlayer's reception has been positive[citation needed] with reviewers complimenting its wide range of settings and customizations,[1] as well as its lightweight nature[1] and its support for a large variety of media formats.[2]
One reviewer observed that PotPlayer's quantity of options is 'one of its biggest weaknesses. It has many different settings which unfortunately makes wading through the checkbox-laden settings menu kind of a pain'[1] and that the options menu is 'confusing'.[3]
As of at least late 2019, PotPlayer began to be bundled with third-party software, causing concerns from PotPlayer's users community.
